The water temperature indicator in BiteGuide shows the current water temperature at your selected fishing spot and helps you understand how it affects fish activity.
Water temperature plays a key role in fish behavior. Each species has a preferred temperature range where they are more willing to chase down prey. When the water is within this range, fish often feed aggressively. If the water is too cold, or too warm, fish often become less active and harder to catch.
Fishbrain uses real water temperature data from USGS sensors. If there isn’t a sensor close to your location, the temperature is estimated using data from the nearest sensors on similar types of water.
This information is used as part of BiteGuide to help calculate fish activity and improve recommendations.
